As a penetration tester with CyberPoint, you will conduct full-spectrum cyber security penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and secure enterprise design and management. You will provide detailed assessments and interact closely with customers to help them immediately remediate vulnerabilities and transition to enduring secure enterprise-wide design and implementation. Your understanding of business processes and information systems will enable you to deliver customers findings and recommendations that will help them enhance their cyber security posture. #CJ


In addition, the penetration tester:

  • Reviews, documents, evaluates and tests information security controls in a wide range of IT environments, including Windows, Linux, iOS, end-user, server, etc.
  • Reviews information system architecture and security controls, assessing technical security controls and related operational procedures.
  • Executes internal and external network penetration tests.
  • Executes vulnerability assessments.
  • Performs web applications penetration tests.
  • Performs network traffic analysis with packet capturing software.
  • Executes social engineering tests to obtain confidential information through manipulation of legitimate users.


What You'll Need

  • Five years’ experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology security, trends, leading practices, and regulatory and industry standard compliance issues such as, SANS Consensus Controls, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Payment Card Industry Standard (PCI), and FIPS-140.
  • Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking and standard protocols (FTP, SMTP, HTTP, SNMP, SSH, POP, IMAP, etc.)
  • System administration and network administration skills including familiarity with as many of the following as possible: Linux (various distributions), Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Windows desktop operating systems, Windows server operating systems, MAC OS and applications, Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Sharepoint, Kerberos & LDAP, remote access (SSH, RDP).
  • Proficiency in manual and automated techniques for penetration testing and executing vulnerability assessments.
  • Ability to analyze vulnerabilities, appropriately characterize threats, and provide sound remediation advice.
  • Basic exploit development and validation skills.
  • Proficiency in Nmap, Nessus, and MetaSploit.
  • Advanced knowledge of network monitoring and "sniffing" (e.g. Wireshark, tcpdump).
  • Coding experience (Python, Ruby, C, Assembly, etc.).
  • Familiarity with network and security devices from various vendors.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to prepare documentation and presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated integrity and a strong work-ethic.
  • Commitment to excellence and collegial teamwork, with exceptional customer relations skills.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Professional Certification such as GIAC (GPEN, GCIH, GSLC, GSEC), CISSP, and/or CISM.
  • B.S. in computer science or related field; an A.A. in computer science or related field with technical experience or training deemed equivalent to core technical classes; or current enrollment in an accredited degree-producing program for computer science or related field with technical certifications or experience deemed equivalent.
